A remarkable journey into the creative and human universe of Ennio Morricone—an artist of boundless creativity, capable of blending multiplicity and coherence, experimentation, and absolute recognizability in his music. His life followed a unique, intense, and at times contradictory and paradoxical path—mysterious and ineffable in many ways, much like music itself. Morricone traversed every musical and artistic domain of the 20th century: from cinema to concert music, from the recording industry to songwriting, from theater to radio and television, always enhancing the vision of those who worked with him while remaining true to himself. He overturned perspectives, leaving an indelible, unmistakable, and deeply personal mark—an enigmatic brilliance, yet almost inevitable given his extraordinary talent.

Guiding us through this experience is a special voice: that of his biographer, Alessandro De Rosa, personally chosen by Morricone himself to collect his memories through years of meetings, conversations, studies, and passionate discussions. From this relationship of trust and friendship came the Maestro’s official autobiography, Ennio Morricone: In His Own Words (published by Oxford University Press and translated worldwide), the podcast Io e Ennio Morricone (Amazon Audible), and De Rosa’s involvement in Giuseppe Tornatore’s stunning documentary film Ennio, a collaboration desired by both the Oscar-winning director and Morricone himself.

From the Maestro’s own words to the audience’s ears: alongside film clips and rare footage, Alessandro De Rosa’s narration becomes a bridge, bringing to life the thoughts, insights, and struggles behind the creation of Morricone’s immortal works.

On stage, accordionist Fausto Beccalossi and guitarist Claudio Farinone faithfully reinterpret his most famous themes, stripping them of their grand orchestral arrangements to reveal their original magic—pure, logical, architectural, mathematical, and chess-like perfection, combined with the timbral invention that shaped them. BIO

Alessandro De Rosa, following Ennio Morricone’s advice, studied composition with Boris Porena and graduated from the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague, Netherlands. As a composer, he has collaborated with Jon Anderson of Yes, Fantine Tho, and worked in applied music. His concert works have been performed by prestigious institutions and ensembles, including Gaudeamus, Residentie Orkest, and the Venice Biennale. Alongside Ennio Morricone, he co-authored the Maestro’s official autobiography, Ennio Morricone: In His Own Words. Conversations with Alessandro De Rosa (Oxford University Press, 2019-20-22), translated into several major world languages. He also created the podcast Io e Ennio Morricone (Amazon Audible, 2020) and was one of the narrators in Giuseppe Tornatore’s documentary film Ennio, by the joint wish of the Oscar-winning director and Morricone himself—. Currently, he serves as manager of Irene Grandi, while continuing his musical career as a freelancer while also working as an author and speaker in the cultural channels of RSI (Swiss Italian broadcasting) and RAI (Italian public broadcasting).  www.alessandroderosa.com

Fausto Beccalossi is one of the world’s leading specialists in the chromatic accordion. After classical studies at the Brescia Conservatory, he dedicated himself to jazz improvisation. Discovered by Enrico Rava at Siena Jazz, he launched his professional career in 1997, collaborating over time with numerous musicians and international stars, including Al Di Meola, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Kenny Wheeler, Paolo Fresu, Mike Stern, and Till Brönner. As a soloist, he performs with his project Accordeon Colours, blending jazz, tango, and Italian music. In addition to My Time, an album of original compositions and a tribute to Gorni Kramer, he has recorded dozens of albums and performed in numerous countries worldwide.

Claudio Farinone, guitarist and composer, after earning his diploma and attending numerous masterclasses, won several international competitions and began a diverse concert career. He performs as a soloist, in chamber ensembles, and with some of the greatest jazz and world music artists in Italy and abroad. He has collaborated on theater and music projects with various artists, including David Riondino, Pamela Villoresi, and Clara Galante. He has recorded numerous albums, including Claudio Farinone Plays Ralph Towner, dedicated to the legendary American guitarist and composer, with whom he performed a duet in 2017. His musical language balances interpretation, composition, arrangement, and improvisation. He is also a presenter of music programs for Rete Due, the cultural channel of Swiss Radio (RSI).
